Most of the members are working diligently towards study for the Registered Parliamentarian tests. It's why we're here. But this is not an easy test. It currently consists of five tests spread over the whole of Roberts Rules of Order and the test bank contains 1200 multiple choice questions.
Why the rush? Because this test is about to be replaced by an even harder testing program, that emphasizes practical knowledge from real-world meeting scenarios rather than simple knowledge memory. It promises to better train parliamentarians to meet the world they will have to operate in, but it requires a different mindset to prepare for.
So, we're rushing towards late September to get at least 2 tests completed, excluding Test 1 Research, in order to grandfather into the current testing program. Of course, once you get far enough to take those first two tests, it's only a small step to take the other three and finish the program.
This test is now called the Legacy System and is slowly being replaced by a new Credentialing System that emphasizes the application of learned and experienced knowledge, rather than just RONR facts. The new system is already LIVE and members are working through it. You can find out about this new System at the NAP website. Click on the menu choice at the top of this page.
Here's a little info on how those tests are configured. For more information and help with finding resources for study, reach out to our Contact Us page.
